Technique Tuesday--Ali Style

If you love Technique Tuesday, and you love Ali Edwards, you aren't going to want to miss class this Thursday. I've got 4 spots left in the Ali Edwards Technique Tuesday kit class. We're going to complete 1 layout and a card from the kit, as well as an additional layout using YOUR NEW STAMP SET. That's right, if you take this class, you'll not only leave with 2 layouts and a card, you'll leave with a special edition Ali Edwards acrylic stamp set that can't be purchased--you can only get it by taking the class. You'll also receive a small stamp pad and acrylic block with your kit--all yours to keep! Call or email NOW to make sure that you get in on this! 884-7776 or scrapbooking@citcom.net is how you can get a hold of us.

The layout below isn't the one we'll be doing this Thursday; it's one I taught at the January Technique Tuesday class. It does use some of Ali's stamps that we carry, as well as several of the Technique Tuesday tiles. It also uses Bazzill cardstock, BoBunny dotted cardstock, Sassafras Las printed paper, KI lace cardstock and brown ink.

Have a good day!

A Snowy Day in WNC

We got some snow here in Western NC last night, so things have been a little slow at the store today. Come on ladies!! It's a perfect day to scrapbook! You should probably come in and get some of the new Bittersweet from Basic Grey to make some Valentine's Day cards. :) If I get a little time today, I might even sit down and try to get something going!

In the meantime, I thought I'd start off by posting a few layouts that we've got up here at the store.

This first one is one that Sandy lifted from Technique Tuesday. She added a few touches to make it her own, and it turned out beautiful!! She used the Technique Tiles and stamps from Technique Tuesday, as well as lots of Stickles to make her layout sparkle!! The octopus were VERY labor intensive to stamp and cut out, so Sandy used the Exclusive QuicKutz border die (Sea Creatures) from Beach Scrapbooks. Sandy had some great pictures from one of her dive trips to use for this one. Do you think she saw this layout and went diving so she could scraplift it?? Hmmm.....

The next one is one that I did for a Christmas class at the store. I was really happy with how it turned out. I like that the red and green aren't your traditional "Christmas red and green." I also LOVE using the new Martha Stewart border punches whenever and whereever I can! I haven't decided if this is the picture that I'm going to keep on this layout, but I wanted to share it anyway.

Ladies--send me your CHRISTMAS LAYOUTS!! Email them to me here at the store: scrapbooking@citcom.net . We will choose our favorite and post it here on the Blog. The winner will receive a $5 gift certificate to the store (can be used in store or online--just let us know which you'd prefer when we contact you). The deadline is Sunday, January 25. Winner will be posted on Monday, January 26. Good luck!!

Well, the focus of the layout above is at the store with me today (that snow closed daycare), so I need to go make sure he's not creating havoc. He loves to play in the button basket and I can only imagine that there are buttons from one end of the store to the other right now.

Giving it a go!!

Hey guys! Christy here! Well, we have decided to take the next step in the world of technology and we are going to offer a blog for our store. We will post pictures of and information about new products on here, as well as information about the store (classes, crops and sales). We just want to reach out to those who are interested in this sort of thing. If you're on our newsletter list, you will still be able to receive information that way. This will be a place where we may elaborate more on things. I think it will be a great place to post samples also! I am excited about it and hope you are too! Please let us know what YOU would like to see on here!!
